Our philosophy for money and life

The Big Picture

Many of us are too busy to think about the next week, let alone the next year, or 5 or 10 years ahead. Taking a step back to understand what are the most important parts of your life, what actually makes you happy and in what direction you are heading, or would prefer to be heading, is going to help when trying to answer the question, ‘what should I do?’.

Ideally the direction comes first, and then the plan and process to get there, but often people only feel free to consider their direction after they have cleared up some of their immediate issues and concerns. We work with you to give both a longer term ‘horizon’ view, as well as a current ‘clarity’ view of your personal situation, purpose and possibilities.

A Wealthy Life

We believe that there are 3 key segments that will have the most impact on your current and future life choices and flexibility.

Health

We regularly see that when our health suffers, everything else becomes secondary. We can’t stop bad luck or genetics or age, but we can be prepared for an unexpected health issue for ourselves or our families, and take steps to look after our health, both physically and mentally. Some regular exercise, keeping our brains active with skills or hobbies, and eating well most of the time will help us to enjoy the second half of our lives as much as the first. We help clients to prepare their own personal protection plan.

Time

We all have the same number of hours in a day available, and it is amazing what some people accomplish in those hours. Money and health aren’t so important without taking time to enjoy them, so ensure that you do schedule time for yourself, the things that you enjoy and for those closest to you, it’s very hard to catch up later. We help clients to free up their time through simplifying their financial life and turning future dreams into current goals.

Money

With good health and free time, money is less important, but it can definitely make life more fun! And having money may also help to buy more time and better health. What level of money you feel comfortable with in order to reach ‘work optional’ status is different for everyone, although often base living costs are similar, and it’s just a matter of working out how to meet them and how much is left for fun. We help clients to see what their financial future may look like, understand their definition of a comfortable life and remove the fear of outliving their money.

Everything Else

We all have different segments of our personal life that we juggle to fit together, whether it’s work, family, relationships, or one of the issues above. Supporting, influencing or complicating those matters are all of the segments of our financial life, which include income, debt, and investing to just to name a few. We strongly believe that when our clients have the financial segments of their life in order, they are more relaxed, confident and have more time to devote to the personal segments of their lives. We work with people that understand that they can’t do it all and want to focus on what they are good at and what is actually important to them. Let us take care of your money segments so that you can take care of everything else.
